popkids Wow. What a fantastic album. I had this on repeat all they way home on the train from London. Every track is a blinder. This is one of those albums that comes along every few years that blows your mind. The energy is awesome and the little touches, breaks and small hooks that run all the way through the album are very inventive and brilliant. Every song is my favourite until the next one then that's the new favourite until the next one then back to start all over again. Absolutly brilliant .

1.
C’mon can you do the Skeleton Dance? Can you foxtrot from the crypt? Can you waltz 3-4-5-6? It goes like this, yeah it goes like this. C’mon can you do the Skeleton Dance? Play xylophone on your ribs? Write melody on your writst? It goes like this, yeah it goes like this. C’mon can you do the Skeleton Dance? Do you move so you know you exist? Just take a little truth, then twist. It goes like this, yeah it goes like this. It goes 1. 2. 3. 4.
2.
When it gets to the end of the ticker tape, They’re all going to have their knives out, knives out. When it goes to the end of the masquerade, I hope they claw your fucking eyes out, eyes out. Can I breathe in the midnight hour? Can I live in the midnight hour? When it gets to the end of the acetate, You can see it with the lights out, lights out. When it gets to the end of the barricade Red wine for the right now, right now. Can I breathe in the midnight hour? Can I live in the midnight hour?
3.
The night hums coronet of flowers. Gather rosebuds in your summer clothes. Find a street where every house is haunted. Eat the document at the tone. Yeah yeah rumor has it. First subtract then add it. Yeah yeah rumor has it. Then you bend those branches. Lay your hands in the grass for autumn. Tonight the quiet is a vibraphone. Do we sharpen new pens for sonnets? Or are we just waiting to explode? Yeah yeah rumor has it. First subtract then add it. Yeah yeah rumor has it. Then you bend those branches.
4.
That tiger grace. That feral hum. That crescent-fanged chrysanthemum. The wild rye. The ivy crawls. I paint my stripes. I clean my claws. I clean my claws in the blue of the moonlight. I clean my claws in the bronze of the moonlight. I clean my claws in the bliss of the moonlight. I clean my claws in the blood of the moonlight.
5.
Bite bite bite on the hand that feeds you. Bones bones bones chew through all that tissue. Break break break bread upon that sinew. Bleed bleed bleed all the poison in you. I am food for the hornets in the pelican’s nest. I am food for the forest with a hole in my chest. Cut up the pattern.
6.
Hey Eurydice 01:04
7.
Yeah yeah yeah does it all add up? One plus one plus one plus one? Carbon and lemon lime blood. Nature red in tooth and claw. This is how the world ends, not with a bang but with a… Yeah yeah yeah does it all add up? One plus one plus one plus one? Carbon and lemon lime blood. Nature red in tooth and claw. This is the whimpering come from a fragile thing. I see your feral grin, I see gore on your chin. This is the whimpering come from a fragile thing. I see your feral grin, I hear your melody. This is the whimpering come from a fragile thing. I hear your melody, I see gore on your chin. This is the whimpering come from a fragile thing. I see your feral grin, I hear that melody.
8.
First I read the Metamorphoses, turned myself into a laurel tree. Then I read all of my Sophocles, sick to death of all that tragedy. The New Cornet. First I read all of my Emerson, turned myself into a graveyard fence. Then I read all of my Tennyson, said “Release me and take by thy gifts”. The New Cornet.
9.
Animals in the cabinet. Fugue shapes on the TV set. Tongues lash from the clarinet. Hour of the wolf, hour of the wolf. Portraits follow down the halls. Hornets humming in the walls. Bats sleep in the parasols. Hour of the wolf, hour of the wolf. Trees scrape at the second floor. Low notes from the cellar door. The oven is full of apple cores. Hour of the wolf, hour of the wolf. The piano is a nest of vines. Birds claw at the power lines. The clocks only move their hands at night. Hour of the wolf, hour of the wolf.
10.
This is the palace of empty balloons: This is the palace of empty balloons, man. Mansions all built for cartoons, man. Rich girls who sing out of tune, man. Rich boys who don’t get the blues, man. Yeah yeah yeah, gimme gimme the holy ghost. This is the palace of empty balloons, man. Mirrors in every room, man. Rich girls who howl at the moon, man. Rich boys who don’t have no use, man. Yeah yeah yeah, gimme gimme the holy ghost.
11.
Pallas Athena, mouth full of hemlock and its spring all the time now. Rest tired ankles in the nightingale hours. Music for foxes. In the nightingale hours, I am the whooping crane. Pallas Athena, dance deadly rhythm in the old amphitheater. Wrap broken ankles. Now we sleep in the daytime in an orchard of scarecrows. Now we breathe in the nighttime. I am the whooping crane. I am the whooping crane, the night is a vessel. I am the whooping crane, the night is a veil.
12.
Absolver 01:05
And so we brave the thorns, and then we heal what breaks. We suffer then we bloom; we learn to reverberate. My heart is bridge of flowers, evergreen in the midnight hour.
